For centuries, horses have often been celebrated for their power, speed, and usefulness to humans. In Peaceful Herd, I wanted to tell a different story.

This painting honors horses in their natural state—resting together, grazing quietly, and finding comfort in one another's company. Soft, overlapping forms and a muted palette of sage greens, warm creams, and earthy neutrals create a sense of calm, inviting the viewer to slow down and appreciate the gentle rhythms of herd life. Rather than depicting movement or drama, Peaceful Herd celebrates the quiet moments that reveal the true nature of these remarkable animals.

As someone who has spent much of my life around horses, I believe there is profound beauty in their peacefulness. They don't need to be running at full speed or overcoming obstacles to be extraordinary. Simply existing together—content, curious, and at ease—is enough.
